Its a hard decision but I still gotta do it..
A trusted bike that has been with me for the past 3 years. Never failed me before when I need to rush from Point A to Point B.. Nicknamed 'Bubbly' by my gf and has been very useful to us whenever we need to head out to town or for late supper at Xin Wang or to some places where public transport is hard to reach (One Rochester/Dempsey/Altivo/Prive etc.)
Now, it may just retire and rest after serving different owners for the past 11 years.
If you are wondering what am I talking about, basically its very simple.
A few days ago, I've met an accident. Crashed into a pickup while heading to work. Im physically ok, but my bike is not.. Repair costs will come up to $1500 and its quite unlikely that I'll be able to claim insurance as I'm partially at fault. Besides, I'm not interested to be drawn into a long drawn battle of deciding who's right, who's wrong and the risk I'm taking when I'm opting for this battle is that if I lose, I will have to pay even more than that stated amount (Lawyer fees, etc.) Whats the point of fighting or claiming then since the cons seems so much worse than the pros. Whats the pros then? I get to ride my bike again and FOC for repairs. (Im not riding too long anyway) Not very attractive. So, whats the other option?
Simple. Send my bike to scrapyard and get back partial cash for cancelling the COE. Probably about 700-800 plus dollars. And with this amount of cash, top it up with a few hundred more to pay the fees needed for a 2nd hand car that may be more useful in the future.
But. Should I head into this liability? That is something that I really have to decide soon.
2008. What an eventful year for me. The end of the year is approaching, yet I'm heading into the new year at a rather low point. (like the financial market) Personally, this two months has been challenging for me. (If you have read the previous post, you'll know why..) Was thinking december would be better. Ha. How much better? I've met an accident. How good can it be?
Oh well, I've said it a million times and i will say it again. I've hit a low point again, but. I will bounce up and return to the top. What doesnt kill you makes you stronger. I dunno if my character has become stronger but sometimes, it really made me frustrated. Every once in a while these kind of things always happen. (Thn again, who says life is always smooth sailing?) I had a rather difficult period while overcoming the previous accident and now this one doesn't do me good. Anyway, it may just simply be a sign indicating hey, its time to change to a car dude. Still, I believe I'm still lucky as I escape this accident with minimal injuries. (No abrasions at all, I've only suffered bruises from the knock and a tiny little harmless crack in my palm.. thats all)
Read up this article that happy people will actually influence other people to be happy. So I'm trying to be happy despite all these happening. I'm trying to find the silver lining among this clouds.. Ha.. Positive. Positive.
And.. Christmas is coming!! Whats the plan for this year? :)
Anyway, this seems like a tribute to my bike.. so why not i just display some pics of my bikes. Ha..
